What Kind of Kindness?

Galatians 5:22-26

I.  Fruit of the Spirit kindness is not being a weak believer.

   

    A.  We do not forsake the truth to be “kind”.                                                         Rom. 2:1-5

 

    B.  We do not behave foolishly and call it kind.                              Eph. 5:15-21, James 3:13-18

 

II.  Our kindness should be flow out of a proper context of love.

 

    A.  Two commands, one commission.                                                 Matt. 22:34-40, 28:18-20

 

    B.  Kindness should reflect Jesus Christ.             I Cor. 13:4-7; Eph. 2:4-10, 4:32; Titus 3:3-7

 

III.  True kindness should shine in us.

 

    A.  Unbelievers should see a distinct difference in our lives.                    Luke 6:35, Col. 4:5-6

 

    B.  Fellow believers should know kindness as a natural by-product.                            vs. 25-26

 

Do I find myself falling into a false “kindness” just to make myself feel better?

How am I doing on being kind to fellow believers, or do I find it easier to be kind to other people I don’t know as well?
